Louisville Bats Materials and Warranties
The bat materials most often used in Baseball and Softball Bats today are Aluminum, Composites, and Wood. Bat warranties for most Aluminum and Composite Louisville Baseball Bats and Rawlings Softball bats are (12 months). Part of what you are getting when you purchase an expensive Aluminum or Composite Baseball Bat or Softball bat is that Warranty. Usually the warranty policy covers a "one-time" replacement for normal ball impact denting. Most manufactures return policies, like Louisville are pretty straight forward. However, Bat Warranty excludes certain damages. Bats that have evidence of abuse such as, but not limited to, striking a telephone pole, fence post or rock are not valid returns.
Bats that have been used in a commercial batting cage or Bats that have been modified in any way do not get covered. Click

or company that you purchased the bat from. ONLY return Warranty Replacement
Bats directly to the manufacturer of that bat. If you are returning a Louisville

Wood bats are usually not covered by any manufacturer warranty unless otherwise stated on a site or the bat itself. Some wood bats made now have fiber glass wrapped or some other reenforced typed handles and are given 30 - 90 day warranty, but you need to check the information about each bat before you purchase it.
Aluminum is lighter in weight than wood which increases control and bat speed. Balls hit with aluminum bats travel farther and faster than other metals. Aluminum alloys used in today's bats generally cost more than other materials but are more durable and less prone to crack or break. These alloys are generally a combination of Zinc, Copper, Magnesium, and Aluminum. Lighter thinner walled alloy bats also have increased "sweet spots" giving the bat a larger hitting zone . Aluminum bats are also offered in single-layer or double-layer construction. Double Layered bats offer more durability and power and the ball tends to rebound off the bat with greater intensity.
Graphite / Composite / Titanium
New technology has allowed manufacturers to create bats that are even lighter and stronger that conventional aluminum bats. Composites or graphite that make up either the handle of the bat or in the entire bat also tend to reduce vibration and lower the sting or tingling feeling in the hands after a hit usually felt when you don't hit the sweet spot of the bat. Some composite handled bats also promote a whipping action similar to that of a graphite golf club that provide the hitter with more power during contact. Another feature of the newest all composite baseball bats are that the sound similar to wood bats when contact is made with the ball.
Wood Baseball / Softball Bats are made from Maple or Ash. Maple being a harder wood is usually more durable and longer lasting than that of Ash, at the same time. Maple bats can sometimes feel heavier than Ash bats, but most wood bats are a (-2) drop, if the bat is a 32" bat is is approximatly a 30oz. bat unless otherwise stated. Many wood bats have cupped or shaved out ends to lighten the bat and help improve bat speed.
